PHILOSOPHY

At Mountain Peak Preschool and Childcare (MPP) and Glacier Peak Preschool (GPP) we believe in teaching the whole child.  We want to engage and foster each child's individual strengths and build upon those.  We know how important a language-rich environment is in laying the foundations for early literacy skills.  We also recognize that play is the most valuable form of learning in these early years.  Keeping these things in mind, through language and play, we will foster students learning and let them explore, create, imagine, and communicate.  MPP and GPP also focus on helping each child meet their full social emotional potential.  We want to build school readiness in this area by helping them be ready to share, make friends, communicate their needs, have good sportsmanship, be empathetic, etc.  Students have many opportunities to learn in morning circle and center time.  Students can then practice these skills during free play and exploration where they can predict, hypothesize, question, dramatize, create, and so much more to show their learning.
